At 2:25pm on Friday 23 December, 1938 children in Marrickville played in the park, factory workers looked at the clock and families shopped for last minute Christmas supplies. At 2:30pm a storm hit unlike anything they had seen before. Trees were uprooted, houses were unroofed and children were left stranded. At 2:38pm the storm disappeared.
